I was reading Neil Gaiman’s book “Instructions” to my daughter and for some reason the “twelve months sitting about the fire” stuck in my mind. It’s from an old Russian fairytale. You can read the original story that Gaiman refers to or the full copy from Gaiman’s book. It’s a crazy, magical book and we were both transfixed by it.
